Worship

Psalm 92:1-3

1 Peter 2:5 “… you also, like living stones, are being built into a spiritual house to be a holy priesthood, offering spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ.

This verse contains several important points to consider in connection with worship.

  • We are living stones.  This is not a dead structure.  Our worship has the life of the breath (Spirit) of God breathed into it.  Like the clay that God formed into a man, when God breathes into our worship, we become living stones.
  • We are being built.  God is putting us together, growing us up together.  He has a design, a plan.  But we are a work in progress.  We rejoice in the promise of God that says, “He who began a good work in you will be faithful to complete it.”
  • We are being built into a spiritual house to be a holy priesthood, offering spiritual sacrifices.  The purpose of our being built together is worship.  The structure without this essential purpose is a lifeless shell.
  • Our spiritual sacrifices are acceptable to God through Jesus Christ.  What an awesome thing it is to know that our worship is acceptable in God’s sight, pleasing to Him.  It is by the mercies of our God that we can present ourselves as living sacrifices that bring a smile to the face of God.  (see Romans 12)

Worship is an integral part of Lamb of God’s ministry.

Our worship is:

  • relational
  • honest
  • intimate
  • authentic
  • expressive
